Lawford Tye Action Group, supported by Lawford Parish Council, has successfully persuaded Tendring District Council to propose Safeguarded Open Space status for Tye Field in the new Local Plan. If confirmed, this protection would prevent development for the entire lifetime of the plan — stopping speculative applications and repeated battles in future.
Safeguarding also strengthens the position on the current Welbeck application and any future appeal. But this protection is not yet guaranteed. Developers and other parties may try to remove it during the final consultation stage.
